Board Gaming Strategy: Classics 1
A Gameschooling track course built around classic board and tabletop games, strategy, mathematics, competition, and analyzing why certain approaches work.
This class
- Students learn and play classic board or tabletop games, then analyze strategies, probabilities, timing, and decision-making
- Sessions can include instruction, competition, post-game review, and discussion of mathematical tradeoffs
- The course treats games as systems worth understanding, not just activities to finish
- Students build skill by learning the rules carefully, testing approaches, and comparing outcomes
What families should know
- Games, materials, and platforms vary by session and are shared before kickoff
- Different sessions may focus more on strategy, competition, or mathematical reasoning depending on the games chosen
- Students should expect both play and reflective analysis, not one without the other
- This course works well for students who enjoy structured thinking, pattern recognition, and learning through repeated rounds
